Nestled in the heart of south-central Kentucky, Bretton’s Bulldogs is a family-owned kennel dedicated to the continued development of the American Bulldog.
Growing up with Rottweilers, I developed an appreciation for the strength and loyalty of robust breeds. As Rell and I started our own family, I sought a powerful, confident breed with more flair. After studying many breeds, Rell and I discovered the American Bulldog. We quickly became American Bulldog Enthusiasts. These dogs are the epitome of confidence and strength, yet they have a playful side, often acting like oversized lapdogs when excited. American Bulldogs should embody friendliness, loyalty, confidence, and protective instincts, and we’ve found that they bring all of these qualities to the table.
Our dogs are a part of our daily activities, and our busy household provides plenty of stimulation conditioning with noise and many friends. They are raised in a loving environment with plenty of human interaction and playtime with our other dogs, which is crucial for their socialization. We specialize in hybrid 100% American Bulldogs, carefully selecting hybrid bully to hybrid standard lines to create a broader gene pool. This allows us to fine-tune each breeding, ensuring our dogs meet and exceed expectations.

We breed structurally sound Bulldogs that make ideal companions, guardians, and service dogs. They embody the perfect blend of strength, vitality, and gentleness.
What do we strive for in our breeding?
Structure: Big broad head, wide muzzle, open nostrils, good angulation, straight, tucked hips, big chest
& shoulders, tight skin, clean breathing (no chainsaw sound).
Temperament: Well mannered, calm, confident, and civil, good judgment on friend or foe, no excessive
barking, loyal.
We believe that these elements are crucial for a well rounded American Bulldog and that’s what we’re
